Kenall performed construction materials testing for the construction of the new $20.5 million Andrew P. Sanchez & Copelin-Byrd Multi-Service Center (Sanchez Center), located at 1616 Caffin Street in the historic Lower Ninth Ward. The Center replaces the original facility destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.
We carried out sampling of subgrade/fill/stabilized soils for moisture-density; in-place compaction testing of soils and asphalt; field inspection of concrete and testing; welding and bolt inspection; non-destructive testing of welds; and plate load testing. This project was part of the Hurricane Katrina Disaster Recovery related and funded by federal disaster declaration. This project was administered in compliance with federal regulations and GLO/FEMA guidelines.
